Ayush Counselling Synopsis
Admission to AYUSH courses—BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, and BHMS—is coordinated through two levels of counselling. The Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC) manages admissions for 15% of seats under the All India Quota (AIQ), while the remaining 85% are filled through state-level counselling conducted by the respective authorities in each state. Each college follows the guidelines of its state’s designated counselling body. The counselling procedure typically includes registration, selecting preferences, seat allotment, document verification, and college admission.
As per data from the Ministry of Ayush and the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), India has 563 colleges offering BAMS and 57 for BUMS, covering both public and private institutions, as well as aided and deemed universities. The National Commission for Homeopathy (NCH) reports 277 colleges offering BHMS, while 15 institutions across India provide BSMS courses.
To be eligible for AYUSH counselling, students must qualify the NEET-UG exam. The NEET-UG 2025 was held on May 4, 2025, with results declared on June 14, 2025. The official counselling dates are yet to be released by the AACCC.
